30W 430GPH Solar Water Fountain Pump (Orange)

I don't usually write reviews but this pump works so well for my purpose I felt I had to. I am a 79 year old woman that isn't much of a handy person. I got this pump for my fountain and put it all together in a short while. The part that took the longest was the tubing that I had to get to the right length. After trying several of the spouts that came with it, I found one that will just bubble like I wanted. Yes, it stops if it gets cloudy which is fine with me. I don't have an outside plug in so I needed solar power. This means I don't have to turn it off at night and it works most days as we get a lot of sun in summer. I hope the picture helps. I even have small frogs taking up residence!

We purchased this pump because the vendor offered a 1 year money back guarantee, never thinking we would have to use it. However, after 2 weeks of enjoying our fountain the pump quit working. We followed all the trouble shooting steps given to us in the booklet and still did not work. My husband noticed that the empeller was frozen, which was the problem. I called company customer service and spoke to a very kind women who was polite and through. She requested a new pump be sent out, free of charge and in two days the new pump arrived. That pump was installed a few days later and to our surprise, it did not work properly and then stopped working entirely. Yes, that was frustrating but I called customer service again and this time all the operators were busy but 1 hour later a representative called me back. ( I did not request a call back). I told her what had happened and she immediately requested a new pump to be shipped out. I heard back the next morning that we would be getting a new pump in a few days. The emails I receive from Poposoap include a transcript of the phone call and the follow up, which is quite impressive. I can highly recommend this company based only on my experience with customer service as we have yet to have any success with the pumps. However, I do feel that the service I received would continue.

Purchased this setup to replace a 160gph pump for an outdoor fountain and decided the 320gph rating for this would work based on the solar output. When the panel is in direct sun or at least pointing up to the sky on a sunny day, it works great with my fountain. If it gets cloudy or overcast, the pump will slow until it finally drops below the voltage threshold and stops.

I see you can now purchase a battery module for this kit, and I would recommend it or any battery setup if you want the pump to run continuously at a decent flow rate.

For my use case, I'm using a solar controller wired to an old 12v wheelchair battery connected to a DC timer so I can turn the fountain off late at midnight until 7:00a. I also use a 12V Step Up to 19V 5A 95W Boost Converter. to allow the pump to run faster at a constant 19v, as if the solar panel were in full sun. Both the timer and step-up transformer are available here in Amazon.

The Pump and filter get dirty fast but are easy to clean and disassemble if needed. A small fiber became wrapped around the impellor shaft and stopped the pump. I just removed the 4 screws and was able to clean everything back to new condition. Use a little steel wool on the impellor shaft for a quick polish and it should spin like a top.

This product works well if there is constant sunlight. Unfortunately it did not work for me but I wanted to write this review in appreciation of the sellers customer service for helping me with the return process! They were very responsive and friendly. Thank you poposoap!

Using it in an outdoor water station, water feature, so far so good. Works great as long as the sun is shining.

I love my solar pump. After a few months of use, the bracket for the panel broke. I emailed the company and they responded within 24 hours. They asked me to send them a picture of the broken part and they replace it within a few days. So impressed!

This is an excellent solar pump and it works great in our garden fountain. I originally bought the orange pump version of Poposoap's 20W fountain but there are definitely differences that you can't see online. The orange worked fine for me as well, but the diameter of all of the fixtures coming off of that pump are smaller than this one, resulting in more vertical height, but also in water leaving our pond even when the pump was at the lowest adjustable flow setting. This one has a larger diameter on all of the attachments, and importantly one of those attachments allows you to further reduce the flow rate. I attached the head we liked best, turned down the valve on the pump to minimum, then fine tuned the height using the plastic tube with the flow restrictor. It works GREAT!! Highly recommended.

I can't provide info about longevity since I just received this system but I will say this pump and solar panel install and perform as advertised. I have retrofitted this system into a 15 year old bird bath and I am happy with the results. The pump is quiet and the flow rate, even at the lowest setting, is equal to my previous A.C. system. I expected the system to be sympathetic to sun and shade but I underestimated the panel sensitivity. Because there is no energy storage here, the output reflects even small changes in sun exposure. A cloud passing in front of the sun will be instantly reflected in pump effectiveness. Altogether, this is a very nice, cost effective, product.

I just purchased this 20W pump and was a bit concerned that it wouldn't have enough push to pump the water up to the top of my fountain. Boy , was I wrong....The first few hours it pumped so hard that almost all my water splashed out ! I finally remembered that it has a flow adjustment built right in and was able to get it just right. I'm a senior lady and was easily able to put it together and attach some of the hosing which is include. This is a great solar pump for the money !
