30W 320GPH Solar Water Fountain Pump (Orange)

I like the ease of using this for my pond. It gives the water fountain feature, but I don’t have to run an extension cord, and no complicated set ups. Pretty easy to get going, and this unit has a large solar panel. My front yard faces the south so I have no problem getting adequate sunlight. Now my pond has a fancy water feature, and I didn’t have to do much work!

I don't usually write reviews but this pump works so well for my purpose I felt I had to. I am a 79 year old woman that isn't much of a handy person. I got this pump for my fountain and put it all together in a short while. The part that took the longest was the tubing that I had to get to the right length. After trying several of the spouts that came with it, I found one that will just bubble like I wanted. Yes, it stops if it gets cloudy which is fine with me. I don't have an outside plug in so I needed solar power. This means I don't have to turn it off at night and it works most days as we get a lot of sun in summer. I hope the picture helps. I even have small frogs taking up residence!

I have been pleased with this item so far. The pump started up as soon as it was attached to the panel and is working well. Even on cloudy days the panel is picking up enough light to flow although the flow is lighter than at full light which is to be expected.

The pump appears to be too strong for my fountain. On the low setting, it may work for a little bit, but within minutes, it goes back to dispensing the water so strong that it runs over the sides. It does not have water very long. It is not that it is not working, but rather that it is too strong and does not allow you to regulate it enough to serve our purpose. I don't know if it is malfunctioning or just not appropriate for our use. If there is a manner that I can reduce the amount of water, please let me know. I thought about tying the tub or plugging the hole some, but the pressure would probably back up into the pump.

This is a versatile solar powered pond/fountain water pump kit. There is ample tubing and connectors to adapt it to your specific water feature and the cord between the pump and solar panel is ample to get good positioning. Unfortunately, it lacks any power storage, so it ceases to work once the sun goes down. For this reason, I opted to repurpose the 30W solar panel for another purpose and instead purchased a DC power brick to run the pump instead. Seems great so far, but hard to assess longevity before the 6-12 month mark.
